Patrick Brigham was born in Berkshire England to an old Reading family. After attending an English Public School and College, the author Patrick Brigham went into real estate.  After the economic crash of 1989 and a few other bitter experiences, in 1993 he decided to abandon London, and he moved to Sofia in Bulgaria.

In a new country with a different culture, and whilst trying hard to set up a home, a new life was definitely in store for him. A master of the comic vignette especially when consumed with disbelief, he set up the first English Language News Magazine in the Balkans called the Sofia Western News (1995-2000). As a journalist he witnessed the political and economical changes in this once hard core communist country.

Patrick Brigham’s Music

A rare recording by Linda Ronstadt made with Bulgarian singer, Yanka Rupkina, from a 2000 Dutch album, Female Passion…Women Of This World….by various artists. “Angel In The Morning”was composed by Robert Jelmer with Bulgarian lyrics by Yanka Rupkina & English lyrics by Patrick Brigham. The song can also be found in a 5 CD set, Linda Ronstadt Collaborations and Rarities, a collection of rare and hard to find duets and tracks compiled by Naughty Dog. A slightly different version of the song is on a 2006 CD, Keranka: the Voice of Bulgaria by Yanka Rupkina, featuring Linda Ronstadt on the World Connection label.

Russell C BrennanRussell Brennan

Russell had always helped other artists and advised them as he had pretty much worked on all sides of the music business and so he was asked to write a book to help upcoming bands so that they didn’t get ripped off. Music Business Bastards (How to do well in the music business without getting ripped off) the original version was the result. He also consulted and worked for a number of big companies including the BBC and Dr. Martens amongst others.

He was also Editor and writer of best selling influential youth fanzine  ‘Dedicated Follower’ that is now housed in the Victoria and Albert museum  as a testament to the youth culture of the day.

Fast forward to the new millennium and after being nominated for UK record producer of the year and doing the last cult themes album Cult Themes from the 80’s he decided to take a break from the music industry to go back to writing books and scripts as well as taking his photography more seriously.

An autobiography, novels and a number of film scripts have been completed and some are to be made into films and Russell is also moving into directing. He had actually directed a number of pop videos for FLR including one award winner.

After getting a number of offers from major film companies for his scripts he declined these because he really has a strong vision as a director and wants to direct all his scripts and so formed his own film company Department-F. While bogged down getting his films funded he made two documentaries ‘The Eleanor Rigby Story.

Eleanor Rigby also made one album ‘Censorship’ which is considered a classic album and many know musicians Including Shirley Manson (Garbage) members of Blur and Jello Biafra (Dead Kennedy’s) all cite it as one of the best albums ever made. So a documentary about the making of this album has also been completed. Both documentaries are currently in post production.

Russell has also written and devised 6 TV shows including one truly ground breaking one that have gained the interest of The BBC and others and he is currently developing these while waiting to get the green light for his feature film.

It’s no surprise to learn that his first feature film is a music business revenge thriller ‘Over and Over’. He has 95% of cast and crew on board and just needs to fill a few positions and gain more funding at present.

He is also getting due recognition of his other skills with one website listing him in ‘The top 20 most innovative record producers of all time’ and 15 of his photos are to feature in a London photographic exhibition in 2013 ‘The most iconic rock photography of the last sixty years’.

Over the years he has also lived the life of an adventurer and people say he lives his life like a dime store novel. Many reading his work cite him as the new Hunter S. Thompson but without the drugs.

Many of his stories are very original and often based on true-life experiences. However his first book this year (2013) is an updated version of his previous popular book ‘Music Business Bastards (How to do well in the music business without getting ripped off). A book of his photography and lyrics is due out to coincide with the exhibition mentioned earlier but it’s his 4 novels that are getting publishers hot under the collar at present.

Richard Steinitz – Author of Murder Over The Border

Richard Steinitz        Born in New York City of German-Jewish immigrant parents, Richard Steinitz has been living in Israel since 1968.

Murder Over the Border is his first novel. As a long-time resident of Israel and veteran of more than 20 years’ service in the Israeli army (reserves), he was often disappointed by the absence of accurately written books that deal with the Israel-Arab conflict. Many works of fiction claim to give a true picture of the area and the events, yet contain glaring errors of fact and even simple translation mistakes! These were among the reasons he wrote Murder Over the Border.

Edward G Kardos – How and why he written Elias and The Legend of Sirok

Ed Kardos
http://www.edwardgkardos.com

,,My grandparents, who I never knew, came to the US in the 1890′s. They landed in Ellis Island NY. My grandparents didn’t know each other in Hungary but met each other in a place called Greenpoint, NY (which is in Brooklyn). They had 4 children– one of which was my father. My Grandparents lived around Budapest and were rural people. That is why I set the story in that area. They could have lived around Sirok!!!! My grandfather was a blacksmith and my grandmother was a gardener and cook in “the old country”. I know nothing else. When I wrote about Elias, I imagined that I was writing about my great grandfather as I know nothing about him or anyone else. My dad was born in the US and his generation “assimilated” into the US culture. His middle name was Zoltan until he dropped it. My mom was English, Irish and German and we grew up learning more about her roots than my dad’s. I learned a great deal about Hungary and its mythology when I wrote this book.”

ROY DIMOND – Author of The Singing Bowl and The Rubicon Effect
New Westminster, Canada

roydimond.wordpress.com

Before I was a writer I was working with at-risk families as a Youth Worker. It was there that I found so many enriching and fascinating people and I often draw from that experience to find characters and plots for my novels.
I then began traveling, and have had the good fortune to find many interesting places. These experiences have often found a way into my writing.
In my spare time I hike and am fortunate enough to live with my wife in one of the most beautiful places on the planet aptly named Garden Bay, on the west coast of British Columbia, Canada.
My first novel is called The Singing Bowl. It’s an epic story about a monk living in a monastery in Tibet who escapes the Communists and is given a quest by his master. He must find a book lost to the world. Like a Japanese koan, the solution leads him on adventures beyond his wildest imaginations, and ultimately to insight.
My second book is called The Rubicon Effect. A story about mankind being tested by Global Climate Change. The ultimate trial to see what humanity is driven by… hope or fear.
My third novel, which I wrote with my good friend Jeff Leitch, is called Saving Our Pennys. It should be coming out this winter. It’s a very different story, about a teacher who is lost and looking for a mentor, not to just help with his profession, but with his life, which he feels is slipping away. Little does he know that mentors can come from the most unexpected places.
I am a writer who does not like to fall into one niche or style. I enjoy writing different genres with unique voices, and exotic settings.
